GeoCell Stabilized Temporary Detour Road

{jb_blackbox}GeoCell Stabilized Temporary Detour Road over soft, wet area{/jb_blackbox}

The attached photos show a demonstration using GeoCell as a road base under the very poorest of circumstances. This was done deliberately.

A detour was needed during another demonstration. The lowest wettest spot in an adjacent grass field was selected for the run around. The topsoil was not removed; the sod was not even cleared off. The separation fabric was placed directly on the wet grass with the remaining steps pictured.

Not only did it take the abuse but when the job was completed a backhoe was used to shake it empty and reuse the cell another time. It is that tough.

That aspect is actually another whole application. From a landscape perspective it is best to preserve the natural soils and drainage around buildings or other construction projects abutting areas architects want to preserve. This includes compaction over tree roots.

This can be done by placing the fabric and cell where construction equipment must work and removing them whenever the machinery leaves. The soils structure and drainage characteristics will not be ruined.
