GeoCell Embankment Stabilization

One major breakthrough allowed by three dimensional confinement is the age old problem of cut banks.  As mentioned there are two totally distinct approaches made possible.  This series of pictures shows the “build out” or base support that is made possible.

If one can gain enough travel width without cutting the up-slope aesthetic loss, surface erosion, slump failures & exposure of subsoil can all be avoided.  The same procedures are useful to repair landslides or create land contours for whatever design needs come up.

As with road base applications, in situ soils can be used when appropriate adjustments are made to the specifications.  As with all construction practices, proper moisture and compaction are required.
